WHO WE ARE

Koin is a community of faith born out of the heart of the Chino Valley. Founded by Sam and Kellie Flores, the meaning of Koin comes from the Greek /Koinonia/ and reflects a community of faith that is in pursuit of Jesus.

We hold a conviction that all are welcome and do not have to believe to belong.

Koin is a non-denominational church that pursues both Spirit and Truth. We exist to raise the name of Jesus and serve the Kingdom of Heaven.

OUR VISION

Usher in the Kingdom of God

We’re a church community with a heart for following the way of Jesus in modern culture. It is our desire to usher in the Kingdom of God by pursuing the presence of God, practicing counter-formation in the way of Jesus, and living on sacrificial mission for the renewal of the cities around us. We believe that integrating these three things - presence, formation, mission - is at the heart of the ministry of Jesus, and is the unique calling of the church in our time and place in history.

OUR MISSION

Our Mission is what the Church’s Mission has always been:

Matthew 28:19 - 20

For Counter-Formation: We are practicing counter-formation by learning how to walk daily in the way of Jesus, and not in the ways of the world, so that we may become more deeply transformed disciples. - Students and apprentices of Jesus.

For Presence: Learning how to be Spirit-led as Jesus was. The Presence of God must be at the forefront of our every-day lives, his presence calls us to more.

For The One: We must learn to sacrifice our own comfort to go after those far from God, with love and humility.

A group of people are gathered indoors, with some engaging in conversation. There is a woman in the center smiling, wearing a beige coat and black top. The room has a white ceiling with recessed lighting, and a white wall with posters in the background.
A man is praying or receiving a blessing with his eyes closed, surrounded by others placing hands on his head in a gesture of prayer or support, during a religious or spiritual gathering.

A woman and a girl smiling at each other through a small window in a white wall, with a child standing underneath the window. Two other women stand nearby, one with a clipboard. The setting appears to be a church or community center meeting point.

God is our source: Jesus is our foundation and the hope for humanity. The walls may change, but the pillars remain the same.

We can’t change lives from the sidelines: Our pursuit is putting actions to words. we don't just say we love, we live it out.

Sharp edges and clean lines : We strive for greatness in everything. We are always improving, growing, and evaluating what we do.

Till it overflows: It is our privilege to freely give so others may have. We devote our time talents, and treasures.

Beyond the Horizon : We look at things not as they are, but as they can be. Dream big, risk often, think ahead.

Iron Sharpens Iron : If you want to go far, go together; if you want to go fast, go alone. We elevate one another to reach our greatest potential.

It takes a village: We are intentional about doing life with you. Koin is a collaboration of people of all different backgrounds and walks of life. We are committed to the community.

We do more to do less: By keeping the menu simple, we can focus on what is most important.
